Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania — frame from the film

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Peyton Reed

Chris Parks shot the in-camera fluid effects for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023, directed by Peyton Reed).

Ant Man VFX supervisor, Jesse Chisolm, approached Chris about creating skies for the Quantum Realm. They were looking for something organic that suggested the sub atomic scale of the world. Chris shot for two weeks creating environments and the imagery for the credit sequence.

It was just magical and one hundred percent not makeable in CGI, it’s so detailed.

Chris is an expert not only in creating violent and beautiful chemical interactions, but also in capturing them on film. And they’re a perfect match for the fantastic sub-atomic setting of the Quantum Realm, where the normal rules of time and space no longer apply.
